Italtex Womenswear Colour and Fabric Trends Spring/Summer 2024
PURE HEMP FOR SUSTAINABLE FASHION
Tinted whites and neutral hues match blue in natural hemp fabrics. Thanks to its low impact on the environment and the limited water consumption necessary for its transformation into a yarn, hemp can be considered a naturally sustainable material. Besides, it is beneficial to the soil, 100% biodegradable and healthy on the skin thanks to its antibacterial, antiallergic, and sun-protective qualities. In this mood board, we suggest it in knittings, woven light fabrics with textured decorations where it blends with cotton, viscose and kapok, rustic effect heavier jacquard stitches made with coarse yarns, and a noteworthy denim version with indigo.
BLUE & WHITE FOR OFFICE
Classic blue and white is the perfect match for office hours, interpreted in different techniques: a paisley print on crinkled-finish cotton, checks on cotton/linen basket weave for jackets, textured chenille stripes and honeycomb bundles on satin, vintage taste tubular jacquard tiny flowers in viscose crepe matching geometric motifs for stretch suits, textured fancy stretch nylon knits in deep blue and basic cotton with easy patterns like the shaded check highlighted by a knotted yarn.
METALLIC REFLECTIONS ON LIGHT COLOURS
Gold and silver or coloured foils – what matters is to shine! For eveningwear, emerald green reptile skin prints cover candid denim, and blurred bronze flowers lay on peach pink jacquards. Metallic foils shine on rustic linen/cotton structures or light shirt-weight organza. Laminated silver prints enrich light knit bases for leggings and beach wear, while a touch of iridescent lamé lets jacquard stretch trousers shine.
